Design & Development:

The OME engineers’ objective was to develop a complete suspension system for the new Jeep Wrangler JL, suiting both 2-door and 4-door variants. Comprehensive research and vehicle testing along with countless hours of engineering resources were dedicated to the development of OME suspension for the JL. OME is proud to offer suspension products that will add 3.5 inch lift (2.5 inch for Rubicon) that easily bolts on and provides excellent control on off-road trails.

During development, each new Old Man Emu suspension system is tested not only for practical performance, but also to ensure compatibility with modern vehicle safety features such as electronic stability control, an area in which ARB has invested heavily in.

Springs:

A range of spring options were developed for both the front and rear to cater to various levels of accessory fitment and load scenarios. 3.5 inch (JL Sport) and 2.5 inch (JL Rubicon) lifts were achieved by utilizing OME X5K high-grade spring steel tuned to provide compliant ride on road while maintaining off-road performance.

Nitrocharger Sport Shock Absorbers:

Both front and rear OME Nitrocharger Sport Shocks have vehicle-specific valving tuned for optimal blend of ride control and comfort. Shock lengths have been optimized for maximum down travel. An additional tuning feature was specifically added to the JL Nitrocharger Sport Shock. An internal rebound spring has also been introduced into the JL front and rear shock absorbers. This provides the opportunity to refine ride characteristics such as body control and top out.

Lower Adjustable Arm Kit:

An adjustable lower-arm kit was developed to allow a flexible solution to fine tune caster settings for the JL regardless of the final ride height and loading scenarios. All arms are designed with strength and durability
in mind and also offer maximum ground clearance. 

Important Notes:

Lift increase is approximate and will depend on accessory fitment and vehicle weight.

When fitting larger than original diameter tyres, it may be necessary to fit aftermarket wheels (rims) that have a greater offset (less backspacing) to ensure that sufficient clearance is given between the tyre and suspension components. 

Spring ratings for the light duty kit are 0-90 lbs additional weight front and up to 150 lbs additional weight rear. Ratings for the springs in the heavy duty kit are 90-190 lbs front and up to 300 lbs rear.
